Healing Girl Summer tastes like nourishment. This super-seeded salad is bursting with magnesium, fibre, and flavour – your hormones, skin and gut will thank you.

Magnesium is the mineral your body is begging for – especially if you’re feeling anxious, inflamed, bloated, or struggling to sleep. It plays a crucial role in balancing hormones, calming the nervous system, and even supporting radiant skin.

This Super Seeded Magnesium Salad is my go-to reset meal. It’s light but powerful – packed with leafy greens, healthy fats, and seeds that support digestion, reduce inflammation, and nourish you on a cellular level.

We’re stacking the hack here – combining multiple magnesium-rich ingredients into one healing, hormone-balancing bowl.

The Ingredients (and their magnesium magic):

🌿 1 cup kale – 30mg magnesium

Kale is a cruciferous queen. Rich in magnesium, antioxidants, and fibre to support detox and digestion.

🌱 1 cup rocket (arugula) – ~15mg magnesium

Peppery, cleansing, and gut-supportive. A beautiful lymphatic stimulator too.

🌿 1 cup spinach – 150mg magnesium (cooked)

One of the highest natural sources of magnesium. Also loaded with iron and calming B vitamins.

🥑 ½ avocado – 30mg magnesium

Creamy, satisfying, and packed with healthy fats to help absorb all the nutrients.

🌻 1 tbsp sunflower seeds – 37mg magnesium

High in magnesium, vitamin E, and zinc – essential for hormone health.

🎃 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds – 150mg magnesium

The magnesium MVP. Also supports estrogen metabolism and skin repair.

🥄 THE DRESSING:

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar – gut booster + supports blood sugar balance
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil – anti-inflammatory and rich in skin-loving fats
  • Pink salt + black pepper to taste
  • Optional: squeeze of lemon or pinch of chilli flakes for a kick

The Instructions:

  1. Wash spinach and kale (Lightly steam or sauté the spinach and kale for 2-3 minutes if you struggle to digest raw veggies) 
  2. Rinse and toss in the rocket.
  3. Slice your avocado and layer on top.
  4. Sprinkle generously with sunflower and pumpkin seeds.
  5. Drizzle with your dressing and toss well.
